CEDIA Expo 2015 is taking place this month. CE Pro talked to Curt Hayes, CEO of BlueDog Data Services, about the company’s plans for the show. For information on becoming a dealer, contact curt.hayes@bluedogdata.com.

Q. What would you say to dealers who are already familiar with your product line?
Those familiar with the outsourced design and documentation services offered through our sister company Audio Design should check out our new database management service for D-Tools and re-engineered web application. Both support the need to create quick and easy scope and budget estimates through generation of accurate proposals from which a company can create a real business process. From process comes efficiency, which leads to successful growth and profitability.

Q. What would you say to dealers who are stumbling across your company for the first time?
If you are an integrator interested in growing your business around process and efficiency using D-Tools as a software platform, we need to talk!

Q. If an integrator stops by your booth with only 5 minutes to spare, what’s the one product he should examine or one question he should ask?
Ask how our newly introduced managed database for D-Tools can help make his business more efficient and more profitable.

Q. What’s your most memorable CEDIA moment?
The thing about CEDIA that is most memorable (or impactful) to me is seeing how the integrator community has adopted new technologies, products and manufacturers. Savant and SnapAV come to mind, thinking about how not that long ago both were just newbies, themselves—and look where they are now. It’s exciting and encouraging to see our group rally around new ideas, and not stay stuck with the same old, same old!

Q. Think of your closest competitor (company or product). What is one thing you do offer that they don’t? Please be specific.
In truth, there is no direct competitor to our BlueDog Data managed database service for D-Tools or for the outsource design and documentation services offered by our sister company, Audio Design, other than an integrator attempting to do the work in-house. Not only do we offer cloud-based database maintenance for D-Tools through BlueDog Data, the design team at Audio Design provides engineering services on an outsource basis to integrators across the country – using the very same data!
